Jr. Jenks Takes the Lead on the Body Glove Men’s Boardshort Line
Redondo Beach, CA (September 8, 2009) – Body Glove International announced today that Jim “Jr.” Jenks has officially been named the Head Designer for the Body Glove Men’s Boardshort line. Having developed Body Glove’s revolutionary VAPOR boardshort, Jenks’ return is invaluable to the design team and the success of the Body Glove men’s line.
“Junior is a staple in the surfing and action sports apparel world,” said Body Glove Vice President of Marketing Scott Daley, “his knowledge and expertise in the surf business is second to none and his homecoming is welcomed.”
Jenks had this to say about his return, “I’m stoked to be back, we got a lot started a few years back but the nice thing now is with the support of SGS, we can pick up where we left off and go even further.”
Jenks has big plans for the Spring 2011 Body Glove men’s line. “The biggest opportunity for this brand, besides going right after the core, is the cross over market,” said Jenks, “I want to build a boardshort for the guy who dives, the one who surfs, the one who wakeboards. I’m drawing inspiration from anything that has to do with a water based lifestyle.”
The Body Glove Men’s Boardshort line is getting new life breathed into it, so expect to see some big changes in the design and technology for the coming seasons.
Body Glove is stoked to have Junior Jenks back on the team and look forward to a long and successful relationship.

Body Glove is stoked to up the ante for the Body Glove Fantasy Surfer Skybox for the only California ASP World Tour event at Lower Trestles the Hurley Pro starting September 13th. Body Glove has a long history at Lowers with over 15 years of the Body Glove Surfbout and we want to do something special to commemorate the event and to support the Body Glove Fantasy Surfer Skybox participants and our friends at Hurley who stepped up big for the event this year.
Body Glove loves surfing above the water but knows there is an entire world below the water that all surfers should learn about and explore. Body Glove team riders Alex Gray, Austin Ware, Mike Losness, Cheyne Magnusson and Holly Beck are all certified avid divers now and when there are waves they surf and when it is flat they dive. For the Trestles event Body Glove will continue to offer a 2009 3/2 Vapor Fullsuit to the winner and will also add a free PADI SCUBA Open Water Dive Certification Class and free rental equipment required for certification. The total package is valued at over $1000. Good luck to all and we look forward to seeing you above the water, below the water and online. Join Fantasy Surfer and the Body Glove Fantasy Surfer Skybox for a chance to compete and win these great prizes and make sure to head down to Lowers or watch teh webcast next week.
