14th Annual Surfside 70’s Contest

Body Glove is proud to be part of the 14^th Annual Surfside 70’s contest. The contest is going down Saturday, July 14^th at Anderson St in Sunset Beach, CA and you can sign up early at the Katin Surf Shop.

Come down and have a great time competing on boards from the 70’s or just hang on the beach and enjoy the vibes.

Despite the light drizzle and clouds we still had a sweet turnout for the Body Glove Wetsuits/Lost Surfboards/Future Fins Demo Day this last Friday down south at Sunset Beach 

We did not come unprepared, coffee & doughnuts, fuel for the morning surf

Our first groms of the morning!! They were super stoked on the suits and boards!! And now they know their local shop, Katin, right down the street, has these suits, boards and fins available to buy!! Like Mike V says, "you can test drive a car, why not test drive your suit & boards..."

Ezekiel Lau Wins ASP 4-Star HIC Pro

Congrats to Ezekiel Lau who won the $85,000 HIC Pro Presented by Vans, held at Sunset Beach. Lau, who attends Kamehameha School, posted a convincing win over 15-year-old Maui schoolboy Ian Gentil; Kauai’s Kamalei Alexander, 33; and defending HIC Pro champion Billy Kemper (Maui, 21) respectively. Lau is focused on his opportunity to compete in the prestigious Vans Triple Crown of Surfing that begins next week. This is Lau’s second ASP victory this year, having taken out the equally rated 4-star Copa Quiksilver El Salvador event back in July. “This is my first year doing a lot of the WQS events,” said Lau. “I got a lot of opportunities to travel more and I had a good summer. I did this event last year and it was totally different. I was struggling through the whole event. I just wanted to come over this year and improve on last year. I did that and I’m happy with a win. I’ve been looking forward to this my whole life pretty much, watching everyone get out there and get in the Vans Triple Crown, so just to get in it, I feel honored.”

Body Glove brings Key Retailers to Hawaii

We brought four key retailers with us to Hawaii this year. We have Derek from Surfride in Oceanside, Sean from Liquid Surf Shop in Carmel, Andrew from Surfer Supplies on the East Coast, and Danny from Santa Cruz Surf. They are here to enjoy an epic week of surfing, enjoying the contest and R&D. Matt Patterson, Director of Sales said, "Having our key retail partners here in Hawaii is invaluable. These guys get to see us working behind the scenes and even help with some future direction plans."
