Body Glove teams with Ocean Beach Surf and Skate

The Body Glove crew including Cheyne Magnusson, Justin Quirk, Jenny Lane, Matt Patterson and Jenna Meistrell had a packed week of festivities with Ocean Beach Surf and Skate. We joined OBSS at the Ocean Beach street fair for their 7th Annual Skate Jam, one of the festival's largest attractions. There were thousands of people at the festival enjoying live music, the OBSS annual skateboard competition, hundreds of vendor booths, rides for kids and the beer garden. If you stopped by our tent you had to play the amazing game cornhole in order to win a Body Glove inflatable hand!

Next stop, The Pearl Hotel in Point Loma for a special screening of our film the Drop Zone Fiji. If you have never been to this hotel I would definitely recommend stopping by for one of their movie nights. We sat by the pool enjoying refreshments while watching the movie on the big screen. Redondo Beach, CA – May 3, 2011 – Body Glove is proud to bring Drop Zone: Fiji to the South Bay. The official hometown premiere of the award winning series will play at Redondo Union High School on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 6:30pm. The Redondo Ohana O’ Kekai Club is donating the proceeds from ticket sales to The Jimmy Miller Foundation.

Drop Zone: Fiji follows four world-class surfers; Alex Gray, Holly Beck, Cheyne Magnusson, Bede Durbidge and Maria del Mar, as they travel the south pacific to visit pristine dive locations, surf some of the most epic waves on the planet and swim with bull sharks. One of the film’s stars, Alex Gray, will be on hand to introduce the movie and answer questions afterwards.

Good Morning!
I hope you had an awesomely sunny, red white and blue 4th! It was my last weekend in California for a while and I caught up with my friends from Body Glove in Hermosa Beach. We just got back from Fiji filming another Drop Zone where we surfed epic Cloudbreak, swam with manta rays, and dove with bull sharks!

Body Glove also finally released the short film "We Love Sharks" by Scott Smith which shows me getting a chance to be a part of tagging a whale shark, travel adventures in Mexico, and outside of the cage with great whites. Awesome experiences!

Finally, in less than 48 hours I will be headed back home to Nicaragua! I can't wait!!!
I'll be co-hosting a surf, yoga, volunteering trip with SYRV.org August 30 - Sept 6. We'll be surfing, doing yoga, and helping to complete the community center which will allow the local village access to sewing machines, computers, after-school programs, and clean water! Join us!!!
