Body Glove’s The Disappearance

For the past three years TransWorld Surf’s Imagiunarium contest has set the challenge to conceptualize and produce a unique and creative photo submission, which appears in their November issue. The photos represent the short video that is also submitted. TransWorld then chooses a winner from the three surf teams involved, which is featured on the cover of that November issue.

Last year, Body Glove took the honors of Best Video Award and Readers Choice Award at the 2011 Imaginarium against Reef, Billabong and Rusty with their 8-Bit entry. This year the teams, including Von Zipper and Sunuk, have all stepped it up and made the best videos yet. Body Glove is extremely proud of their 2012 submission, The Disappearance, which includes surfers Jamie O’Brien, Anthony Walsh, Alex Gray, and Cheyne Magnusson, and are hoping to take the win for the 2nd year in a row.

The Disappearance follows a group of four professional surfers and six filmmakers on what should have been the ultimate surf trip to the jungles of Indonesia but quickly became an excursion into heart-stopping terror. As the group discovers a perfect, secret wave, strange images begin to appear on film. Are they sharks, alligators, or something else? Fear sets in. Accusations fly. By night, unseen evil stirs beyond their campfire’s light. By day, large animal prints are discovered nearby. Members of the crew begin to disappear one by one. As the end of their journey approaches, they realize that what they are filming is not an epic trip but their own descent into unimaginable horror.

This is the footage found on the multiple hard drives and cameras recovered at the destroyed campsite. The disappearance of the eight adventurers is still under investigation. Two survivors have been questioned repeatedly and continue to tell investigators strange stories of a sea creature. Search and rescue has finally reached the remote jungle campsite, but contact has been lost as of this press release. All attempts to establish contact with the search party have gone unsuccessful.

Drop Zone Tahiti made the finals in the Blue Ocean Film Festival's International Film Competition

The Blue Ocean Film Festival just announced the 2010 international film competition finalists. They received more than 350 entries in 19 categories submitted by the most talented ocean filmmakers from around the world.

The competition was intense, but Drop Zone Tahiti was selected as a finalist in the 'Ocean Sports' category. All Finalist films will be screened during the Festival (August 24 - 29) Monterey, California, USA in one of 6 Monterey Peninsula theater venues.

Mike Losness Releases New Segment on Innersection.tv

Body Glove rider and San Clemente’s free surfing fiend, Mike Losness, sees Taylor Steel’s newest movie project, www.Innersection.tv, as an opportunity to unleash some new footage, promote his sponsors, and solidify his reputation amongst the surfing world.

Wasting no time, Mike’s freshly filmed part will be up for voting during the first cycle of Innersection beginning Monday, March 8th. With only 2 months to film and edit, Mike delivers the goods regardless of pressure. Labeling his section “Insurfnia,” Mike brings light to a condition where many surfers may find themselves as a newly diagnosed patient. “Insurfnia” is defined as the mental disease that tricks the victims mind into believing that sleep will never be achieved; brought on by strong, adrenaline inducing thought patterns of surfing. Filmed in locales ranging from Bali, El Salvador to Barbados and back, Losness’s case of Insurfnia is an accurate diagnosis in his premier part.

Straight from the surfer’s mouth, Mike gives his opinion on Innersection; “It’s going to be one of the biggest websites in surfing. As soon as the first cycle is up on March 8th, who knows? There may be 500 surfers who have uploaded videos, and tons and tons of people are going to watch them. I think it’s a great place to show my surfing talent to the masses."

James Balzer in Redondo

After an early morning flight from Orlando to LA, James Balzer stopped by the office to kick it with his extended Body Glove family. Tomorrow, he and the rest of the Body Glove Wake team, along with team manager Sarah Lalau and Body Glove Entertainment, will be headed to shoot the last key component of Slick City in Australia. Today, Balzer decided to experience Southern California's best winter ever.

Red Rockets Ah Plummeting

Not just one, but two red rockets fell from the sky that starry night in Bali. Body Glove Entertainment's "Chayne Show" releases its newest episode, "Red Rocket", and it's crazy. Cheyne Magnuson decided he wanted to bungee jump - then with a BMX bike - then with the red rocket. Go ahead and watch the jumps evolve over at Body Glove TV.

Body Glove Entertainment

The Body Glove Entertainment crew was hard at work this past Monday and Tuesday.  They made a quick run up to The Tiki Shack to go Wakeboarding, Wakesurfing, Tubing and diving.  Yes, DIVING!!!  I will have more photos from the trip to post as soon as Scott Daley gives me his photos.  There are a lot of photos from this trip.

TIKI SHACK DVD

Body Glove Entertainment has finished editing their newest dvd called, "The Tiki Shack."  It features Body Glove wakeboard team riders: Rusty Malinoski, Daniel Doud, Tarah Mikacich, Shelby Kantar and Jeff McKee.  Filmed over 4 days at Billy Meistrell's "Tiki Shack" out at Parker, Arizona.  A 1000 copies were made and are being taken down to Surf Expo in Orlando this week to be handed out.

RUSTY MALINOSKI WINS THE ROYER RUMBLE DOUBLE UP CONTEST

Recently the Body Glove Team of Billy Meistrell, Scott Daley, Scott Smith and Sarah Miesse drove up North to show support to Body Glove Wakeboard team rider Rusty Malinoski at the Royer Rumble Double Up contest.
