Body Glove Fantasy Surfer Sky Box J-Bay Event Winner

Body Glove is stoked to announce the winner of the Jeffrey's Bay event for the Body Glove Fantasy Surfer Skybox. Justin Barr from San Diego and his team MBBRA took the event with a total of 853 points. Justin is taking home a new Vapor 3/2 Fullsuit for winning the event.

We caught up with Justin and he said, "I am so stoked on a new suit. I was going to be in need of one going into the fall. I am originally from the home of Body Glove in the South Bay but now live in Pacific Beach. I just want to thank Body Glove for the new suit. I can look like a local again when I surf the avenues. I look forward to rocking a little bit of the South Bay in San Diego and hopefully I can win a back up suit in the next contest!"

Mike Losness and Timmy Curran Help Out Wounded Marines

Mike Losness and good friend Timmy Curran took some time last week to work with the Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation and help some wounded active Marines feel the healing power of the ocean. Mike and Timmy and a dozen other volunteers were down at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA helping these Wounded Warriors learn to surf and discuss how surfing and ocean related activities can help in their long term health and recovery.

After pushing the guys into some waves and the participating in JMMF ocean therapy discussion sessions, the boys put on a little surf show in the fun punchy peaks on the base and got the crowd amped to see what the pro can really do on a board.

Huntington Beach Surfing Walk of Fame with Body Glove!

Yesterday was the annual Huntington Beach Surfing Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony. In 2007 Body Glove's founders, Bill and Bob Meistrell, were honored for their contribution to the surfing culture. This year Body Glove and Bob Meistrell were on hand to applaud inductee and Body Glove friend Duke Boyd.

When Bill and Bob were looking for a name for their wetsuit company, it was Duke Boyd who asked, "Well what makes it so special?" To which Bob replied, "it fits like a glove" and from there Body Glove was born. So thank you Duke Boyd for not only what you have done for Surfing Culture, but for Body Glove as well.

So from all of us here at Body Glove, congratulations Duke and all the new members!!! Welcome to the family!
