Garrett McNamara Nominated For Biggest Wave of the Year

Last November off the coast of Portugal, Garrett McNamara arguably rode the biggest wave anyone has ever surfed.  He is now nominated for Ride of the Year and XXL Biggest Wave category at the Billabong XXL Big Wave Awards on May 4th. APSS Event Huntington Beach

What a great weekend for the launch of the American Pro Surfing Series in Huntington Beach. The event had great surf, from the 3ft to 5ft range with light winds. Team Body Glove showed up with Gabe Kilng, Matt Pagan, Jamie Meistrell, Colton Sarlo, Demi Boelsterli, Dane Anderson and Gaven Gillette. 

 Gabe took us all the way to the final placing 4th!!!

Who is JOB 2.0- Episode 8

Any Hand / Any Where Contest Starts May 1st

Redondo Beach, CA (26 April, 2012) – 2011’s successful Any Hand / Any Where contest put on by Body Glove is starting again on May 1st, 2012. The contest will go for 6 months and end in October. The contest revolves around an inflatable hand, being taken with participants where ever they go; on vacation, to sporting events, etc. and getting an epic shot with the hand. Like last years contest there will be 2 winners each month, one for best location shot and one for best action shot. Those monthly winners will receive a Body Glove prize package and be entered to win the grand prize at the end of the contest. In October, one grand prize winner will be chosen from the 12 finalists. Body Glove will choose the winner but they will take into account the feedback from social media. The grand prize includes the Ultimate Body Glove Prize Pack: a Method wetsuit, VaporSkin boardshorts, Body Glove t-shirt, snorkel set, a towel, sunglasses and best of all a trip for two to Kona, Hawaii!

 Last years submissions included pictures from Viet Nam, Mount Everest and someone even included the hand at their wedding. Action shots involved skyboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, and diving with the hand. Contestants this year are going to have to step it up in order to win. The inflatable hands are sold online and are given out at Body Glove events. Alex Gray Describes Nathan Fletcher's Teahupoo Wave

On August 27, 2011 the notorious heavy wave spot Teahupoo flexed her muscle bigger than ever seen before.  And the result, some of the heaviest waves ever surfed were ridden that day.  On wave in particular is Nathan Fletcher's wrecking ball of a wave which is going down as the heaviest wave ever ridden in the history of surfing.  Body Glove team rider Alex Gray describes the day in this video piece created by SME.

Body Glove Team at the American Pro Surf Series

This weekend Body Glove team riders Matt Pagan, Colton Sarlow, Jamie Meistrell, Scott Werring, Gabe Kling and Peter Mussio will battle it out the American Pro Surfing Series. 

The American Pro Surfing Series, also known as the APSS, will bring together some of the country’s most esteemed surfers to Huntington Beach, California for this non-ASP domestic surf trifecta. Held on the South Side of the Pier, the contest harkens back to the time when homegrown surf series reigned supreme in the US.

Sean Herman NSSA Eastern Champs

This past weekend Body Glove and South End Surf Shop Rider Sean Herman along with the UNC Wilmington Surf Team traveled down to New Smyrna Beach, Florida for the NSSA Eastern College Men’s Division.  It was extremely competitive with tons of professional surfers but the UNC Team pulled through again and won our 4th Consecutive East Coast Title.

Individually Sean Herman placed the highest for the team and got 2nd Place overall for NSSA EASTERNS COLLEGE MENS Division.  Big Ups Sean!

After a few phone calls and a "good to go" from the Body Glove team, Trever Maur and Josh Twelker made a trip from the west to the east for a quick meet up with the cream of the crop, Rusty Malinoski, Jeff McKee and Bob Soven. Nothing less than a good time was in store for the Body Glove team as they hit the water and shredded their faces off.

Harley Clifford Lands First-Time Move At Wake Games

In the "Expression Session" contest at Wake Games on April 14, Harley Clifford landed the sport's first wake-to-wake 1080 (without the use of a double up) from a switch toeside approach. Rusty Malinoski landed the move off the double up in Reno, Nevada two years prior. Harley took home $5,000 for his efforts and shared the podium with Olivier Derome, who also landed the same move right after Harley -- a true moment in wakeboarding history.

Also, congrats to Bob Soven for taking 3rd in the Pro Men Final as well as Josh Twelker, who landed in second in Junior Pro Men.

Dayton Silva 1st Place Win

Congrats to Dayton Silva from winning the 2012 Oakley Surf Shop Challenge. For winning the team event all four guys won a  free trip to Bali. Sounds like an amazing win to us!

SurfStream Wave Pool Video- Peru

Wake Games Preview

Rusty & Balzer's low-stress training sesh

Orlando is buzzing right now with anticipation, as the King Of Wake Tour is ready to kickoff at the Wake Games. All the pro riders are back in town, including TransWorld's "Best Wakeboarder" Harley Clifford as well as crazy Canadian wakeskater James Balzer. And the locals like Rusty Malinoski, Bob Soven and Jeff McKee are as fired up as ever.

Harley has been absolutely shredding through the off-season in Australia and has been doing what he does best -- landing new moves and having fun. He will be one of the team captains at this year's Wake Games. "I'm looking forward to the whole team vibe and to see the level of riding after the offseason," Harley said. "My riding is also feeling really good and I have a couple new tricks that I will throw because they're getting consistent."

Rusty, another team captain is in the best shape of his life and is ready to put all his hard work into contest runs. "Everything's just feeling really good." Rusty said. "I'm anxious to get back out there and have a fun season."


Bob will also be a captain and has prided himself on being able to pick the stars, no matter if they're from Pro Men or Amateur Veteran Women. Almost all of his time has been spent in front of MTV cameras, and he's been getting in a lot of shred time.

Vans Pier Classic

Vans Pier Classic Nate takes 2nd !!!!!





He boosted the biggest air of the event, getting a 9.17 and came within .02 of taking the win on his last wave at the closing seconds of the final. Great job by the boys everyone was looking strong!!!!!

Meet Team Rider Mo Freitas

Mo Freitas is one of the newest members of the Body Glove Team. He has competed and excelled in many Stand Up Paddling competitions, but also has a passion to surf. Growing up in Hawaii, one thing Mo has lots of is great waves.  Below you can see pictures of Mo charging some big waves on his SUP and surfboard.
